Psi Chi stems from the two Greek words: "Psyche" meaning "mind" or scholarship; and "Cheires" meaning "hands." Psi Chi strives to enrich the psychological mind through fellowships and research, and facilitates this by offering over $400,000 in grants annually. Psi Chi consists of more than 700,000 members which makes it the largest existing student psychological organization. Purpose Statement Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.
